Avatar Review

Shane, Coco and I started out our year by seeing Avatar. I won't give any spoilers away but Tim wanted my review of the movie so I thought I would share with my friends. I'll start out by saying that Coco loved it, but her first comment was "too much swearing". I disagree with her on both counts. The acting was good and the special effects were great. I didn't even mind the political correctness of the movie (although I think this may get to Tim somewhat, it was extreme), but the story was so weak I could barely sit through the movie. The swearing was appropriate for what they were portraying (nothing compared to an evening with the Troutners) and there are no scenes that I thought were inappropriate for Coco. Shane agrees with me for the most part, but the action scenes kept him interested enough to sit throught the entire movie, and didn't make it seem as long as it did for me. If you are going to see it definately catch it on the big screen for the effects. Keep in mind I did not enjoy Transformers (I liked the comic relief in this movie a little bit) and I couldn't stand the GI Joe movie. Happy New Year!

  1. The Avatar movie did have a lot of predictability. Enough so that I was able to time my trips to the bathroom without missing anything unexpected. Definately one of those "I wish I'd have seen it on the big screen" type of movie. If you have any interest in seeing it at all, I'd see it sooner rather than later.
